Miss Competition Rules:
Miss America has officially partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network to develop a National Platform.
The National Platform starts at the Miss Local Pageant Level with the 2008 pageant year.
Each contestant is expected to meet a required minimum goal, for the National Platform, of $100 for each local pageant level competed in.
The expected minimum goal must be met before you may compete in the local preliminary. For more details on the National Platform visit the Miss Contestant Children’s Miracle Network Information document on the Forms page.
There is no entry fee paid to the local pageant. However, you must send a $100.00 deposit to hold your
placement in the pageant and you will receive it back on the day of the pageant.
Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
Must be female, single, never married, have never conceived a child, and be of good character.
Must be a resident of the State of Texas for the past six (6) months or a student of an accredited Texas college
or University for at least one (1) full semester enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours or the
maximum required for the degree plan chosen.
Must (a) be at least seventeen (17) years of age at the time of your first appearance in the preliminary round of
the local or state competition and (b) be no older than twenty-four (24) years of age on December 31st of the year in
which you would win State Finals.
Must be a High School Senior by the time of your first appearance in preliminary round of the local or state
competition and can or will be able to produce a diploma as proof thereof upon request or that you have or will
have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program for high school equivalency and can or will produce proof
thereof upon request or have or will have successfully completed the academic requirements for entry into a four
year college/degree program.
Keep in mind that you may NOT compete in a Miss Texas/Miss America preliminary pageant: If you competed at a local Miss USA pageant for their current pageant year and either won a local USA title or went on to the state USA competition as an "at large" titleholder (paid for the title) for their current pageant year. In this case, you will not be eligible to compete in a local Miss Texas pageant (Miss America) for one (1) complete pageant year.
If you held a Miss America local title during the current pageant season and either resigned your title or lost your title for some reason, you may not be eligible to compete in a Miss America local pageant again for one (1) complete pageant year. Please contact the director prior to entering.
