Lone Star Princess Information
The Miss Texas Organization Lone Star Princess Program is for young ladies age six to twelve (birth certificate will be required). The purpose of this program is to mentor those young ladies who have an interest in someday competing in the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant and promoting community service. Miss East Texas and Miss Teen East Texas will serve as mentors to the Lone Star Princesses! All Lone Star Princesses will participate in some aspect of the Miss Texas stage production numbers.
The Princess will have the opportunity to be a part of the title holder’s year. The Princesses are encouraged to go shopping with the title holder, attend assemblies and meetings where the title holder will speak and / or perform, exercise with her, etc. The title holder will engage the Princess in any activity that she can to make her feel a part of her year as she prepares for the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant, as she represents East Texas at various events throughout the year and as she promotes her platform and community service activities. The title holder can “build” a choral group to entertain at nursing homes, malls, or church events with her Princesses. If the Princess has the title holder at her school, visits her classroom or Church Youth Group; she is the official hostess for the title holder.
Plus, the big event is each Princess will have the opportunity to participate in a production number during the Miss Texas and Miss Texas Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageants which will be held in Fort Worth, Texas, June 29 – July 5, 2008, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Auditorium.
Each Princess is to provide her own dressy, ankle-length solid white dress (any type of fabric) with age appropriate white shoes. The length of the dress must fall between below the knee and above the ankle. The dress may be purchased or made from any style pattern. The title holders and Princesses will have their own special dinner during pageant week. Rehearsals during pageant week are very casual, so warm-ups, jeans, etc. with tennis shoes would be most appropriate. We request no sandals, flip-flops or open toe/open back shoes be worn due to safety concerns. The auditorium is quite cool during rehearsals, so some type of sweater or jacket would be advisable.
Each Princess must submit a photo (color or black & white) not to exceed the size of 3 x 5 for the 2008 Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant Program Book. There will be a section devoted to the Lone Star Princess Program. Please put the Princess’ name on the back of the photo exactly as it should be printed in the program book along with the "Miss East Texas". The photo, all required forms and the registration fee MUST be turned in at the Spring Franchise Meeting April 3rd by the pageant director, if you have not submitted them previously to the Lone Star Princess Chairperson.
All Lone Star Princesses, their families and friends are responsible for their housing and meals during Pageant activities for their stay in Fort Worth. Information regarding the Pageant Headquarters Hotel with Miss Texas Pageant rates will be forwarded at a later date.
Upon approval from the Miss East Texas Orgization and the Miss Texas State Officials, you will be sent your Official Lone Star Princess crown. You may NOT make appearances as a Lone Star Princess until you have received your crown. We look forward to having you as a part of the Miss Texas Organization Lone Star Princess Program. Please contact us anytime with your questions.
2009 Applications will be accepted starting August 9, 2008 at our Local Miss East Texas Pageant.
